What this helps with

Use this guide when Snag works on some websites but not others.

Why websites behave differently

Websites do not all serve images the same way. Some use normal image files. Others use scripts, previews, canvas elements, protected media, or temporary URLs.

Common website patterns

Normal image files

These are usually the easiest to save and convert.

WebP images

Many modern websites serve WebP files automatically because they are smaller. Snag can help convert these into other formats.

Lazy-loaded images

Some images only load after you scroll or interact with the page. Make sure the image is visible before using Snag.

Preview images

Some websites show smaller preview images instead of the full-resolution file. Opening the image in a new tab may help.

Canvas-based images

Some web apps and AI tools render images inside canvas elements. These can be more difficult to save than normal image files.

Protected or restricted images

Some websites intentionally block downloads or restrict access. Snag cannot bypass website permissions, paywalls, or platform restrictions.

What to try next

  1. Refresh the page.
  2. Open the image in a new tab.
  3. Try the upload/converter workflow.
  4. Try saving from the original image source instead of a preview.
